Why does it keep asking for my password after I type it in?
One of 3 things could be the problem:
1. You have the wrong username or wrong
password typed in.
a. Make sure you are not trying
to log in with your email address: username@pcsia.net
b. Make sure there are no spaces in your username or
password.
2. Someone else is logged in with your username or password.
3. Your account has been placed ON HOLD for late payment
Why do I hear a voice saying something about the area code?
Your computer is dialing the area code.
1. You will need to go into Dial
Up Networking and find your PCS connection you use to dial the internet.
2. Right click on it and go to Properties
3. Delete the area code out of the box
4. Click OK
Why do I get disconnected when I am on the internet?
This is an issue that continues to puzzle
the world of ISPs. Why do some users constantly get disconnect while other never
experience this problem? The answer may never be known but if you are a user
experiencing problems with disconnections while online, here are a few things
you can try:
1. The idle timeout box may be checked.
- Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options
- Click on Connections
- Select the dial-up connection and click Settings...
- Click Advanced
- Uncheck the Idle timeout box
- Uncheck the Disconnect when unneeded box
- Hit OK a few times
2. The 'disconnect call if idle' box may be checked
- Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel
- Double Click Modems
- Click on Properties
- Click Connection
- Under Call Preferences uncheck 'Disconnect call if idle for more than__
