When trying to download my messages it stops in the middle
Someone has sent you a large email that is taking too long for you PC to download. You need to call tech support and have them delete it so that you are able to receive your other messages sitting in you mail box. PCS Tech Support: 641-683-6200
Setting up multiple email accounts
If you are setting up additional emails for multiple users it is recommended that you set them up in Netscape Communicator. This will enable each user to have their own password protected email and their own bookmarks.
If you are setting up additional emails for a single user to check it is recommended that you set them up in Outlook Express. This will enable a single user to to check multiple email address from the same inbox.
Netscape Communicator
- Click the Windows Start button and
click Programs, Communicator, Utilities, and User Profile Manager.
- In User Profile Manager, click New. On the next page, read the information
about profiles and then click Next to continue. Proceed to input the requested
information (Name, email address, etc.).
- When it asks for the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server type: mail.pcsia.net Then hit
Next
- Mail Server User Name is the first part of your email…for example: pcs@pcsia.net
username = pcs
- Where it asks for Incoming Mail Server type: mail.pcsia.net and make sure that
the server type selected is POP3… Then hit Next.
- Click Finish
NOTE: These steps may vary depending upon an individuals PC.
NOTE: If at some point it asks you if you want to use an existing Dial Up Connection or Create a New One. You want to use an existing one. If it asks which one, you want to choose the Dial Up Connection that was created during installation. This will be your Dial In Account.
Outlook Express
- From the Tools menu, choose Account.
- Select the Mail tab.
- Click on the Add button
- Choose Mail
- In the Display name text box, type your name.
- Click the Next button to continue
- In the Email Address text box, type your email address. Example = you@pcsia.net
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3) text box, type mail.yourdomainname, example =
mail.pcsia.net
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) text box, type mail.yourdomainname, example =
mail.pcsia.net
- Click the Next button to continue
- Type in your username and password.
- Click the Next button to continue
- Click the Next button
- Select Connect using my phone line.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Select Use an existing dial-up connection
- Select your Internet dial-up connection.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Click the Finish button.
- Click the Close button.
I keep getting a message that say I am approaching my Message Limit Quota
NOTE: The first time you check your email, after running the below steps, your email client may download several message that you have already read. This should only happen once. After you delete them this time they will be gone for good.
In Netscape:
1. Click on Edit
2. Click on Preferences
3. On left hand side - double click on Mail & Newsgroups
4. Click on Mail Servers
5. On right hand side - click on Edit
6. Click on POP folder tab
7. Uncheck "Leave messages on Server"
In Outlook Express:
1. Click on Tools
2. Click on Accounts
3. Click on Mail folder tab
4. Select the correct email account
5. On the right - click on Properties
6. Click on Advanced folder tab
7. Uncheck "Leave a copy of messages on server"
